It is reported that ABRAAJ GROUP with headquarters in Dubai and founded by Arif NAQVI in 2002 has bought KFC Turkey with 104 restaurants, from Yum Brands of USA. The private equity fund that has several investments in Turkey had also bought Netlog Logistics in July 2017.  It is understood the deal for the sales of KFC Turkey with 104 restaurants to Abraaj Group was concluded, in the previous days.

Serving at more than 19,000 locations in 115 countries, KFC was brought to Turkey by Turkent AS, an affiliate of Süzer Group in 1989. In 2013, the Süzer Group sold its franchise rights to fast food chains Pizza Hut and KFC in Turkey, to Yum Brands, a US based company. Since then, the US Company has started a rapid exchange process in the company’s organization and restaurants. In addition, the company started to grow in Turkey with the franchise system for the first time in 2015, and after this operation, the number of branches of the company in Turkey increased to 104. In the next five years, the target was to open 400 new restaurants in Turkey. Currently, KFC has 104 restaurants in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Bolu, Kocaeli, Eskisehir, Muğla (Dalaman Airport), Balikesir, Denizli, Adana, Gaziantep, Canakkale, Kahramanmaraş, Samsun, Hatay, Antalya, Sakarya, Kayseri, Diyarbakır and Mersin.

Meanwhile, an official person from the group said that the group would complete at least one purchase in the first half of next year, in a statement he made to press. He also stated that in 2018 they will have spent the entire $ 500 million of the fund established for purchases in Turkey and closed down to new investors in 2016.
