AKSA Acrylic Chemical Industry Co., an affiliate of AKKOK HOLDING which is one of Turkey’s most reputable industrial groups was established in Yalova in 1968 to meet the acrylic fiber need of Turkey and started production in 1971 with an annual capacity of 5000 tons.

Aksa has become the world’s largest producer of acrylic fiber with investments and innovations made over the years. Today it is a global giant in its sector with nearly 300 customers in 5 continents and more than 50 countries. Aksa has more than 1,200 employees, 502 thousand square meters of operation area and an annual capacity of 315,000 tons, the largest in the world.

The Turkish giant is a pioneer in the sector with its management systems, environmental practices and social responsibility projects applied in addition to its success in production. With its wide range of products, Aksa offers raw material choices for the textile sector to produce rugs, sweaters, yarn for hand rugs, blankets and technical textile raw materials. With its innovative approach, Aksa increases its new and special product portfolio every year and has also started to produce outdoor fibers in 2001.

As it has been for many years, Aksa will continue its position as a world leader with increasing investment plans, new projects, products and growing business volume.

AKSA is the only manufacturer of such fiber in Turkey and also positions the country as the second biggest manufacturer in the world after China with a 12,5% share in the global market. The company exports 40% of its production.  Aksa has exported approx. 1,5 million tons of fiber worth US$3 billion since its establishment.

AKSA has developed a most advanced technology in acrylic fiber production. The company has established a Research & Development Center to put together all technological studies on carbon fiber and thus introduced Turkey the carbon fiber technology. The market is projected to grow up to 3-6 times in the coming years and is determined to carry on with its research and development studies to ensure its position in the market.
