Minister says China will take action at any price if someone tries to separate Taiwan from China

The fierce challenge between China and the USA seems to be warming up the relations between two world giants.  China has been disturbed by the recent US military sanctions on China’s military for a while and the trade war between two countries has certainly had an additional negative impact in regards.

One of the greatest disturbances for China has been the military existence of the USA in the South China Sea, though. In fact, China’s defence minister has used a very clear and even sharp language to show how focused his country on the issue is by expressing “an attempt to separate Taiwan from China would cause Chinese armed forces to take resolute action at any price”. The minister voiced this remark at the opening of the Xiangshan Forum in Beijing, on Thursday.

He did not fail to state that China’s military ties with the United States were important and sensitive, but also added Taiwan was a “core” area and Beijing was not pleased with power demonstrations of “foreign forces” in the South China Sea. The minister stated that the islands in the South China Sea had long been China’s territory and they could not afford to lose a single inch of them.

Some experts and opinion leaders comment however that a war between China and the USA seems to be quite likely (although not inevitable) within a couple of decades due to the friction between to world giants in the Pacific region – as well as across the globe in all areas to include trade in the first place.
