Court arrests three refugees disguised as police for robbing tourists in Istanbul

THEFT IN ISTANBUL - TOURISTS

3 suspects, 2 of whom are Iranian and one of whom is a Pakistani national, introduced themselves as police officers to tourists in Istanbul, and took their valuables , money while conducting body search and fled. The suspects were caught in Avcılar and were arrested by the court.

Several tourists went to police stations and complained. As a result of the increase in complaints, the Pickpocketing and Fraud Branch Supervisor teams of the Public Order Branch took action. By examining the security camera footage, the teams identified the license plate of the vehicle used by the suspects.

It was made public that te perpetrators of the theft are Iranian national Gholamreza R.N.(33) and Javad M.(39) with Pakistani nationality Syed G.H.(40).

The suspects who were also found to have rented the vehicles they used, were captured and detained in Avcılar. The suspects who were sent to the courthouse on October 12,were arrested and sent to prison.
