Energy Minister: Turkey will continue to get oil from Iran

Energy Minister Taner YILDIZ said the oil purchasing contract of Tüpraş from Iran was going to end in August this year and said contract would definitely be extended.

YILDIZ who answered questions from journalists in Tripoli, Libya which is second stop of his Algeria, Libya and Qatar trip said “Oil purchasing contract of Tüpraş from Iran is coming to an end in August this year. This contract will definitely be extended because 35-40 percent of Turkey’s oil need is obtained from Iran.

YILDIZ reminded that Turkey was among 9 countries announced by United States on December 3rd and said “Whatever amount we are getting on 3rd December we will continue to get the same quantity until August. We will evaluate said quantity aagain in August. We will not get more oil from Iran”.
