Erdogan and Trump come together in New York on UN General Assembly occasion

President Erdogan, who is in New York City of USA to attend United Nations (UN) 72nd General Assembly, continues bilateral talks. In this context, Erdogan met with US President Donald Trump at Lotte New York Palace Hotel. The conversation, which was held down, lasted about 1 hour. Turkey’s Ambassador to Washington Serdar Kilic, MIT Undersecretary Hakan Fidan, UN Permanent Representative Feridun Sinirlioglu and Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin were present at the meeting, Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak,

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said “we will realize an inter-delegation and a bilateral meeting with my dear friend Donald”. He also added “I believe that we will have the opportunity to discuss regional developments and other issues in the world. I am especially grateful to have this opportunity.”

Rump on the other hand said “I think the relations between the two countries have never been as close before” adding Erdogan’s personal relationship played an important role in it. Trump noted that Erdogan was the leader in “a very difficult part of the world” and added “We have a great friendship. Erdogan was my friend.”
