Erdoğan: We will not get permission for steps concerning our protection needs
Russian made S400 DEFENSE SYSTEMS

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip ERDOGAN participated in the Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum on his visit to this country on which occasion he delivered a speech. Referring to the S-400 Agreement with Russia ERDOGAN said, “Some people are disturbed by this, sorry about that. At this point, we are not going to get permission from others for steps we are to take concerning our protection and defense. We have to fulfill our needs. You do not have the right to block us“.

Earlier Jim MATTIS, US Defense Secretary had shared a message of concern regarding S-400 Turkey plans to buy from Russia, 2 weeks after the approval of the law that prevents the delivery of F-35 warplanes to Turkey.

US Defense Minister stated that Turkey was a sovereign state and had the right to make its own decisions, but that his administration did do not recommend purchase of Russian-made defense systems as S-400 missiles were not compatible with NATO systems.

Mattis also said he talked to Hulusi AKAR on the phone and they had very friendly and sincere talks.

He shared they worked together on the road to be followed regarding Manbij. Mattis added that in case Turkey gave up on purchase of S-400 missiles the sanctions in question could be removed.
