Foca, one of the most classy holiday resorts in Turkey’s Aegean region

Talking about Turkey’s Aegean region one should stop and think (as we say in Turkish) as Turkey has so many beautiful spots in the Aegean region that one cannot decide which one to give priority to. For example, it goes without saying places such as Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Ayvalik etc. are indeed world-wide popular.

On the other hand, there are also places that are really worth visiting such as ALACATI recently popular and SIGACIK, the new shining star in the region. But there is such a special place in the region that you can tell the difference the moment you see it. This unique place is called FOCA to the north of Izmir within a distance of 20 km.

When you arrive in FOCA after a not very comfortable drive from Izmir, you start seeing 2 flat houses on the main street. But when you enter into the village, then it turns out to be quite a pleasure to see the buildings radiating nostalgia. In fact you do not see ugly multi-storey concrete buildings.

In FOCA, when you take a look around you, it is likely that you will think the level of the people (in terms of culture and communication skills is higher than many other places. The place does not seem to be a source of noise and to the contrary you think it’s quite peaceful – especially as compared to places such as Bodrum, Marmaris and all…

As for the coast, you will find a very elegant and pleasant sight, with boats parked in the harbor and the best part is people can dive into the water right by the shore.

Needless to say the place has several elegant cafes and restaurants as well with nice food. To recap, we believe for those who have not yet seen the place, a visit to FOCA would mean an enjoyable time to remember.
