Russians back in Turkey: About 3 million Russian tourists to visit Antalya in 2017




Oleg ROGOZA the Consulate General of Russia in Antalya has said the Mediterranean province of Antalya could host about 3 million tourists from Russia this year. The Consulate General added more than 3 million Russians visited Antalya annually before the diplomatic crisis between the two countries at the end of 2015. ROGOZA stated that with the normalization of the bilateral relations, the number of the Russians visiting Antalya would reach 2.5 million or 3 million and the bilateral economic and commercial relations would accelerate.



The Consulate General went on to say “The number of Russian tourists visiting Antalya’s tourism regions has increased significantly this year and in May alone, more than half a million Russian citizens visited Antalya confirming Russian tourists have confidence in Antalya. On the other hand investments by Russian citizens have exceeded 2 billion dollars and Russians have bought about 8,000 properties in the province.”

Rogoza also stressed that the potential use of local currencies in bilateral trade, economic and tourism ties would further strengthen relations between two countries. He did not fail to remind also that the Antalya administration coordinated the cooperation with local security forces and the consulate attributed great importance to maintaining the safety and security conditions of for tourists.
