Turkey's foreign trade deficit goes up in September 2017

Based on data by of the Ministry of Customs and Trade, Turkey’s foreign trade deficit went up to USD 8 billion 144 million dollars in September, with an increase of 85 percent. According to same report exports increased by 8.67 percent in September as  compared to same month last year and reached USD 11 billion 849 million.

Imports on the other hand increased by 30.67 percent to USD 19 billion 993 million. Foreign trade volume increased by 21.51 percent in this period and was recorded as USD 31 billion 841 million.

It was mentioned in the report that foreign trade deficit had gone up to USD 8 billion 144 million corresponding to an increase of 85.23 percent. Thus exports could cover only 59.3 percent of imports as compared to the ratio of 71.3 percent same month, last year.
