GALATASARAY JUVENTUSTurkish side Galatasaray, the once UEFA Cup winner put an end to hopes of Juventus to qualify for top 16 in Champions League.

The game originally scheduled for Tuesday evening had to be postponed for Wednesday by the referee due to heavy snow fall. So it really started on a Tuesday night and ended on a Wednesday afternoon sending Galatasaray to top 16.

The international star Wesley Sneijder’s shot decided the winner of the game which was a true battle due to extraordinarily heavy weather and field conditions.

A dramatic finish from Sneijder, who scored low to Gianluigi Buffon’s right after being set up by a smart header by Didier Drogba, broke the deadlock, and the Turkish side managed to lead until end of the game, for about another 10 minustes.

It was truly a saddening situation for Juventus as a draw was enough for them to join group winner Real Madrid, who beat FC Copenhagen a night before, in the next round,

After the game Galatasaray coach Roberto Mancini said “It was a difficult game because the pitch was really difficult. But in the end the team deserved to win.”
