Global giant Pfizer opens new production unit in Turkey
Global giants keep investing in Turkey…
The most recent investment was realized by Global pharmaceutical company Pfizer which opened a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) production plant in Istanbul.
It is reported that Pfizer cooperated with Mefar Ilac under Birgi Mefar Group for the plant located in Istanbul’s Pendik district.
The investment with the capacity to produce 75 million doses annually has marked Turkey as the third country after the US and Ireland to host such a facility.
The Ministry of Health is known to be running a “Childhood National Immunization Program” and the new investment is going to provide the opportunity of being self-sufficient in the supply of the vaccine for infants and young children against pneumococcal diseases.
