Google penalized by European Commission for misuse of dominant position

GOOGLE is no doubt the “king” in the internet world and counting on its power does not hesitate to often penalize millions of websites, drawing them crazy sometimes for irrelevant reasons (we think, obviously). This time however it was GOOGLE, penalized… The European Commission decided that Google should pay more than 2.4 billion euros as fine for “misusing the dominant position it possesses in the search engine market”. The Commission claimed that the company manipulated the queries for shopping on the search engine, eliminating small competitors.

The European Commission’s record penalty for Google is attributed to manipulation of search results in favor of the Google shopping services and misuse of market dominance. While the reason for the ruling in the last seven years has been rejected by Google, the European Commission has not commented on the issue.

Interesting world, isn’t it? The king gets penalized 🙂
