Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality approves TL 20 billion 100 million budget for 2018
The budget for 2018 was discussed at the meeting of the IMM (IBB) at its head-office. IMM Chairman Mevlut UYSAL informed the council members about the budget for the year 2018. UYSAL announced the budget for the year 2018 was TL 20 billion 100 million and said “This means an increase of 8.65% in our budget compared to the past year”.
He went on to say “Our total budget together with İSKİ (water and sewerage company) and İETT (local transportation company) is TL 42 billion 600 million. Our biggest goal is to connect the rail systems in Istanbul with each other. We have spared TL 6 billion 822 million which is the lion’s share of our budget for transportation“.
UYSAL also mentioned that the municipality would allocate TL one billion portion of its 2018 budget for urban transformation.
Emphasizing that they would work with the principle of “less talk, more business”, the mayor expressed that they would make necessary investments in education, health, sports and other fields and shared his good wishes and hope that 2018 budget would serve Istanbul well.
