Japanese maritime giant enters cooperation with OYAK of Turkey

Nippon Yusen ( the Nippon Yuen Kabushiki Kaisha Group – NYK Line), one of the world’s largest and oldest shipping companies, has made a fast entry to Turkish market. The Japanese giant, previously working with Turkish agencies, has decided to cooperate with the OYAK Shipping and Port Operations of the OYAK Group. The Japanese giant and OYAK Group have taken a decision to establish a joint venture under the name “NYK Ro-Ro Port Operations”.

Shares of NYK Line which was founded in 1885 and has more than 35,000 employees are traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The most important partners of the group are Japan’s finance giants such as Japan Trustee Services Bank, The Master Trust Bank of Japan and Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance. Another noteworthy company is Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, one of Japan’s most important industrial companies.
