It is reported by officials that number of Russian tourists Turkey hosted in 2017 reached 4.7 million breaking a record in the history of the country with 3.8 million hosted in Antalya, alone. Experts point out that the growth rate observed in the world tourism in 2017 had not been recorded in the last 10 years. This high performance in the sector corresponds to a growth of 7 percent, with a tourism mobility of 1 billion 322 million people. The contribution of European market to said growth was recorded at 8.5 percent followed by Asia-Pacific region at 6 percent.

As for Turkey although the exact figures have not been announced yet it is calculated that a total of 37 million guests to include 32 million foreigners and 5.5 million Turkish citizens living abroad visited Turkey in 2017. This corresponds to an increase of 30 percent, compared to 30 million people in 2016.

In Antalya on the other hand this figure reached 10 million quite fast thanks to the return of Russian tourists corresponding to a growth of 5 percent as compared 2016.

In 2017 despite a remarkable success in growth, prices got nowhere close to satisfying the facility operators in the region. This means 2018 should be a year for the Turkish tourism to gradually improve its prices as well, in favor of accommodation sector obviously, not forgetting though a radical increase could have a backlash effect.
