OECD raises Turkey’s growth forecast for 2017 from 3.4 percent to 6.1 percent

Turkey has received good news from OECD, today. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an intergovernmental economic organization with 35 member countries, founded in 1960 to stimulate economic progress and world trade.

Turkey which has gone through some tough times in terms of politics and economy lately has been spending effort to recover and get on the right track again. Within this framework the administration has taken certain measures to strengthen the economy.

Today, OECD has stated that Turkey’s forecast growth has been increased from to 3.4 percent to 6.1 percent for 2017 and from 3.5 percent to 4.9 percent for next year.

The Authority also revised its 2017 inflation expectation upward, so that the forecast of the TUFE rose to 10.7 percent from 10.4 percent for 2017, to 9.9 percent from 8.1 percent for 2018.
