Owner of ECZACIBASI Company says Turkey ranks 5th in the world in ceramics exports
ECZACIBASI is one of Turkey’s prominent conglomerates operating in the areas of drugs, health products, personal care products, constructions goods and finance. The company targets to be the leading supplier in all said fields. The company also operates “Ceramics sanitary ware production facilities” in BOZUYUK, Bilecik with success.
Most recently, the company put its fourth facility to operate in the same field into service with a ceremony. At the opening Bülent Eczacıbaşı, the major shareholder said, “We are progressing with an investment target of 103 million euros for the 2019-2020 period.”
He said “Turkey is an important country and we rank 5th in the world in ceramic exports”.
“According to the domestic value-added report prepared by Turkey Ceramics Federation, our industry realized exports of $ 2009-2018 period 7.3 billion. This amount has provided an added domestic value of US$ 5.9 million. I am proud to share that our industry with the added value ratio of our sector in exports is 82 percent. This means 82 dollars of every 100 dollars in ceramic exports remain in our country.”
Eczacıbası also said “Our company is among the leading sectors in Europe with more than 60 years of experience of our Vitra brand, we realize more than 50 percent of the total ceramic exports of our country. Our production campus also hosts the second best R & D center of our country in all sectors. Vitra Innovation Center has been awarded as the best R & D center of its sector for the last 5 years. “
Mr. Eczacıbası noted that Eczacıbaşı Group continued to invest in every field in which they operated in order to increase their strength in global competition.
