Turkey is an emerging country with a very young and active population making it one of the most important and attractive spots for IT sector and especially players in the the internet market.

Google has long enjoyed a monopole existence in said market – like the rest of the world eexcept for a few countries such as China and Russia.

However, American internet giant is now to face a big threat form a very strong and well established competitor from Ruıssia; YANDEX Search Engine…

It would be unfair to deny what Google has presented the whole world in terms of the opportunities internet users have been benefiting for last 2 decades or so..

On the other hand however, the monpolist situation of Google has been distrubing many, some world wide bodies to be among them.

Now, YANDEX therefore has a big opportunity to gain a considerable market share from the internet giant thanks to its well established background and the feeling of support it has been enjoying extended by huge crowds in Russia

It has been  declared by the chairman of the Turkish unit of the Russia-based search engine celebrating its first year in the local market that the company has already reached a 1 percent share in the Turkish market.

On emay think one percent is not very meaningful but it surel means a lot for Yandex (and Google as well)

Because it is known that  “Yandex Turkey spent the first six months to understand and research the market, integrating its products and, localizing them”. Therefore the company believes  a 1 percent share of the market after just 12 months is very satisfactory.

Yandex also says the search engine understands Turkish and thinks in Turkish seeking to meet the expectations and needs of users in Turkey.

And the most important thing is the company targets  to achieve a share of 30-35 percent in the next five years in Turkey.

On account of above all, we believe GOOGLE is going to face truly tough competition in Turkey, in the close future.
