Turkey’s Istanbul has become home to yet another multinational company’s regional management center, this time to French pharmaceutical company, Sanofi. As part of its restructuring program, the company will relocate its current management center in Dubai, covering Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq as well as Turkey, to Istanbul.

Turkey will guide the region with its growing economy and strong ties with neighboring countries, Stephen Cobham, Sanofi’s Vice President for Turkey and the Middle East commented on the relocation.

“Turkey’s quality labor force and sound scientific base, combined with medical expertise and experience, provide an excellent management center and an important operations platform for Sanofi. We strongly believe in Turkey’s leadership qualities to add to our regional operations,” Cobham added.

Sanofi’s generic drug division Zentiva runs a pharmaceutical plant in Kirklareli in western Turkey, which is currently one of the three biggest research and development (R&D) labs of the group.

In recent years, the country has become a prominent global and regional hub for many international companies in the management, production, and distribution fields.
