Saudi Arabia announces journalist Khashoggi killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul

In a statement from Saudi Arabia, it was shared that “Journalist Jamal Khashoggi had died in the fight at the consulate, in Istanbul”. Based on info provided by Saudi Authorities, it was circulated that Cemal Kaşıkçı’s body had been handed over to a local collaborator.

Saudi Arabia shared that “Journalist Jamal Khashoggi had died in a brawl at the consulate” with no information as to where his body was.

Saudi intelligence chief Ahmet al-Asiri and Saud al-Kahtani, top adviser to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Selman, Saud al-Kahtani were dismissed. It was decided to establish a ministerial committee for the restructuring of the General Intelligence Department of Saudi Arabia. The statement also said, “Anybody involved in the death of Khashoggi will be called to account for it and brought to justice”.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia had persistently denied that the journalist had not been killed at the consulate insisting that he had left the building which obviously shows SA officials were lying. Now, everybody have held their breath waiting to see what has happened to the body.

One thing is obvious though; It is absolutely unbelievable how daring a country, one of the best (one of the greatest, as Trump puts it) allies of the USA which is supposed to be the leader of the modern world and the champions of democracy and freedom, can become so as to take actions directly targeting freedom and lives of people with dissenting opinions to the regime, people who they deem a threat for their power (regardless where said dissidents reside or are located), not even taking into consideration any criticism and/or sanctions likely to come from the rest of the free (?) world.

Not to forget, worse part of the story is the whole world shamefully sees the best ally does not have a proper word to say against this dreadful crime simply due to some benefits of irresistible magnitude (as voiced by top officials), namely more than hundred billion dollars of trade between countries in question. This is absolutely against human dignity – and this statement is for all citizens of the world to grasp.
