Seasonal industrial production rises by 1.8 percent in July

MAKINE-SANAYISeasonally and calendar adjusted industrial production increased by 1.8 percent in July, compared with the previous month, while calendar adjusted industrial production rose by 3.6 percent compared with the same month last year.

Mining and quarrying index fell by 2.0 percent, while manufacturing index rose by 1.9 percent, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index rose by 3.2 percent in July, compared with the previous month, as the sub sectors of the industry, according to data released by Turkish Statistical Institute, on Monday.

Mining and quarrying index rose by 0.4 percent, manufacturing index rose by 3.4 percent and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index rose by 6.2 percent in July, compared with the same month last year.

According to the main industrial groupings classification, the largest increase was in capital goods by 6.1 percent in July of 2014, compared with the previous month.

In the sub sectors of the manufacturing, the highest increase was in manufacture of other transport equipment by 30.8 percent, followed by manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations by 14.7 percent and manufacture of furniture by 9.3 percent in July, compared with the previous month.

In the sub sectors of the manufacturing, the highest fall was in manufacture of tobacco products by 3.7 percent, followed by manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 3.4 percent and manufacture of leather and related products by 2.7 percent in July, compared with the previous month.
