“Shame on you!”.. Hotel in France cancels reservation for a conference by Turkish delegation without reason

sarkozyA country which always refers to “DEMOCRACY”, liberty and especially “FREEDOM OF SPEECH” is upto playing dirty games against Turkey only to win a couple of hundred thousand Armeninan votes by trying to pass a bill which is supposed to punish anybody to deny so-said Armenian genocide (claimed to have been carried out by the Turkish state in the past).

It is absolutely NONSENSE and out of logic to even make an attempt to ban freedom of speech in such a manner.. and to be even worse to try to humiliate people by threatening them by imprisonment punishment.

This is absolutely unacceptable in the 21st century and especially when originating from a country which claims to be the craddle of liberty, democracy and freedom o f speech.

Therefore millions of Turks (as well as many other people in the world to include Armenians) believe SARKOZY is not sincere and anybody with a bit of conscience and feeling of fairness is well aware that he has not been able to fit in the post of presidency he has been occupying for quite a while –  judging on such improper conduct he has displayed in international arena, so far. We also believe that this situation has been “misluck” for FRANCE.

On the other hand, a most recent misconduct from the French side was displayed by a hotel in Paris as inserted in the report below.. Editor, BTT

A hotel in France cancelled a reservation by a Turkish delegation for a conference room without offering any reason for cancellation, private broadcaster NTV reported on its website.

The delegation was made up of prominent representatives of the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodities Exchanges (TOBB) and the Turkish Industry & Business Association (TÜSİAD).

They were travelling to France to campaign against a French motion criminalizing the denial of Armenian genocide claims.

The room reserved for the delegation in the Intercontinental Le Grand Hotel was cancelled last minute by hotel management due to unavailability, but reports hinted at mounting political pressure on the hotel management as the underlying cause.

The delegation immediately cancelled all bookings at Le Grand and moved to Paris Hilton Hotel instead. The event was moved instead to the Turkish Consulate General building in Paris.

TOBB Chairman Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said Le Grand Hotel refused to refund the delegation at first for the bookings but eventually gave in and paid them back.
