Star refinery, built with an investment of approximately USD 6 billion, is scheduled to start service in the third quarter of 2018. Officials of Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR have announced Star refinery in Turkey would become operational in the third quarter of the current year.

The Star refinery, which is made with an investment of approximately USD 6 billion, will have a processing capacity of approximately 10 million tons per year, i.e. 200 thousand barrels per day. This corresponds to 4.8 million tons of diesel to be produced per year, as well as jet fuel, petroleum odor and LPG.

On the other hand, TÜPRAŞ which is Turkey’s only refinery operator has a processing capacity of 28 million tons in four existing four refineries.
