The number of tourists arriving in Antalya via air exceeds 9.5 million

It is reported that the number of foreign tourists coming to the city via Antalya Airport reached 9 million 37 on Friday, October 13. The rate of increase for the period between 1 January and 13 October was recorded at 63 percent as compared to the same period of last year. On the other hand it was also observed that and approximate number of 544 thousand tourists had arrived at the Antalya Airport between October 1 and October 13.

According to official sources, 413 thousand tourists arrived at the Antalya Airport between the dates of 1-13 October, last year. In 2016, Antalya hosted 791 thousand tourists.

Despite several issues with negative impact on Turkish tourism, these statistics were found to be promising by the authorities as far as the prospects for the coming period are concerned. It is a known fact that tourism is one of the major revenue generating sectors for Turkey.
