Turkey is celebrating 99th anniversary of establishment of the republic

In Turkey’s “War of Independence” Atatürk and his colleagues cleared the country from the occupying forces thanks to the glorious Turkish forces. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk made many revolutions in order to make Turkey a modern country. Undoubtedly, the most important of these was the proclamation of the Republican administration.

The Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk brought together the nation of an occupied country under the torch of independence. He created a state ahead of its time and respected by the entire world from a fragmented and devastated empire, rewriting history. His greatest revolution was certainly the “Republic”. The road to the Republic was full of difficulties and obstacles to be taken care of however he managed to realize his big dream.

Anatolia was occupied. Mustafa Kemal stepped into Samsun on 19 May 1919 and lit the fire of liberation. He won victory over victory against occupying forces. After Turkish forces led by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades had defeated the occupying forces it was, it was time to bring the country enlightenment and modernity.

In fact, he had simultaneously laid the stones of the road to the foundation of the Republic. The first step was the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on 23 April 1920. A new constitution was prepared. On 29 October 1923 it was time to declare the foundation of the republic.

Ataturk who was elected President as a result of the first vote made a speech saying “We will always go forward together thanks to the love and trust of our nation. Republic of Turkey will be happy, successful and victorious”.

The Republic is the symbol of Turkey’s independence and accepted as the biggest holiday of the nation. October 29 Republic Day is celebrated with increasing enthusiasm every year.
