Turkey: Poultry Production, December 2013

Hen egg production was 1.4 billion units

Hen egg production increased 1.8% in December when compared to the previous month and increased 6.8% when compared to the same month of the previous year.

Number of slaughtered chicken was 87 million units and number of slaughtered turkey was 720 thousand units

Number of slaughtered chicken increased 11.6% in December when compared to the previous month and decreased 3% when compared to same month of the previous year. Number of slaughtered turkey increased 81.6% in December when compared to the previous month and increased 3.4% when compared to the same month of the previous year.

Chicken meat production was 147 201 tonnes, turkey meat production was
5 034 tonnes

Chicken meat production increased 9.9% in December when compared to the previous month and decreased 0.5% when compared to same month of the previous years. Turkey meat production increased 41% when compared to the previous month and increased 8% when compared to the same month of the previous year.
