Report by Turksat says Turkey’s annual inflation goes up to double digits

INFLATION goes up in Turkey

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced inflation figures for August 2017. The Consumer Price Index (TÜFE) rose by 0.52 percent. Annual inflation rose to 10.68 percent. CPI (TÜFE) had increased by 0.15 percent and Domestic Producer Price Index (PPI) had gone up by 0.72 percent in July. Annual inflation was 9.79 percent in consumer prices and 15.45 percent in domestic producer prices.

In August 2017 TÜFE incurred 0,52% compared to the previous month. It incurred an increase of 6,60% compared to December of the previous year, 10,68% compared to the same month of the previous year. The increase was recorded as 9,66% according to the average of twelve months.

As of main expenditure groups, the increases in transportation, household goods, restaurants and hotels were recorded as 2,05%, 1,6%, 1,03% respectively and 0,71% in housing and various goods n

Other increases in TÜFE were observed with in food and non-alcoholic beverage prices with 11,97 %, and with 11,66 % in health. Entertainment and culture, restaurants and hotels incurred an increase of 11.19 percent and 11.07 percent respectively as compared to the same month of the previous year.
