Turkey’s budget performance in March improves as compared to 2015

NACI-AGBALTurkey despite major difficulties in foreign and local politics seems to be doing quite well in terms of budget performance which is among main indicators for the well-being of the economy.

It is reported that the AKP government has succeeded to come up with a performance of only 6,6 billion Turkish Liras deficit in March (US$ 2,4 billion) which is better than 6,8 billion lira deficit in March 2015

These figures were shared by Mr. AGBAL (Finance Minister) in person on April 15th, who also stated that “The budget performance in the first three months clearly indicated the government’s determination to maintain fiscal discipline”.

To provide more details it was reported that the government revenues in March was calculated as 46.8 billion liras – an 11.4 percent increase year-on-year whereas budget expenditure was calculated 40.3 billion liras, showing an improvement of 22.3 percent as compared to year earlier.
