Turkey's Deputy PM says fight with terrorism does not make Turkey more fragile

In reply to a question in an interview on a national TV channel, Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister MEHMET SIMSEK has stated that fight with terrorism does not make Turkey more fragile. In same interview SIMSEK also added that the cost of terror for the country was very big and terror should be eliminated in some way for Turkey’s future to be clear.

In reply to a question about “Olive Branch Operation” SIMSEK stated that Turkey’s intervention was legitimate and in accordance with international law. He added that decisions made by The United Nations Security Council in the past authorized every country with the right of self-defense, adding it was very clear that Turkey was fighting terrorism. He went on to comment, “Does this make Turkey more fragile? No, on the contrary if you do not fight terrorism and this threat continues you will have put Turkey’s future at risk in short-medium term. The cost of terrorism for Turkey is very big. Therefore if you can eliminate terrorism in some way, then you will have opened the way for Turkey.
