Turkey’s Haluk Bilginer receives Best Actor Award at International Emmy Awards

The International Emmy Awards were presented at a ceremony in New York. Turkish drama artist Haluk Bilginer received the best actor award.

The 47th edition of the International Emmy Awards, in which television productions from outside the United States  compete, was presented at a ceremony held in New York. There were four nominations from Turkey, the UK, Germany and Brazil for the best actor award. Artist Haluk Bilginer received the best actor award for his character in the series called “SAHSIYET” (meaning personality/character)

In his speech at the ceremony, Bilginer thanked the academy and invited his team to the stage. Artist said justice and amnesia concepts were referred to in the series and added we should not allow amnesia in the society we live in.

Bilginer plays the main character of the series, Agah Beyoglu who is a retired 65-year-old forensic clerk.

Hungarian actress Marina Gera won the best actress award for her role in the series Eternal Winter. The British series “McMafia” received the best series award.
