Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci has said Turkey has sent more than 120 cargo flights to Qatar so far. He also said “So far we sent 121 cargo planes of supply to this country meaning the largest air transport operations of this kind in the world. Moreover we also sent an additional shipment consisting of a ship and seven trucks.” The minister emphasized that these movements should not be considered to be against any third party and added that Turkey only struggled to meet the daily needs of the people of Qatar. The minister said “We hope that these problems will be resolved soon”.

On June 22, Turkey sent its first ship carrying food to Qatar from the Aegean city of Izmir. Turkey’s Customs and Trade Minister said that since four Arab countries started boycotting the Gulf state on June 5, Turkey tripled its exports to 32.5 million dollars to Qatar.

As circulated in several news earlier Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain had accused Qatar of funding terrorism and disrupting regional instability
