The case of Turkish-Iranian gold trader Reza Zarrab to be held in New York is progressing towards a very interesting direction. Zarrab has accepted the crime on trial in the case of former Halkbank manager Mehmet Hakan Atilla accused for piercing the sanctions of USA against Iran via illegal ways and agreed to cooperate with the prosecutor’s office. In yesterday’s session in New York’s Southern District court, prosecutor David Denton described Zarrab as a “witness” to the prosecution and he is scheduled to start witnessing on behalf of US prosecution today.

Regarding the progress with the case Prosecutor David Denton has made the following statement:  “On the first day of the Jüri stance we have compiled the claims of the living and the parties. As a witness, Reza Zarrab will reveal the inner face of the story and expose the truth behind all these confusing lies. He has acknowledged that he is guilty of violating US laws and has decided to cooperate with the state.

Mehmet Hakan Atilla’s lies have created holes worth billions of dollars in the economic sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran. The architect of this very successful plan that cheated US banks and enabled Iran circulate money freely around the world is Atilla. Zarrab expressed intention, Atilla provided the method. Transfer of billions of dollars by Iran to other countries also affected the economies of the countries in the Middle East. The size was so huge that it was protected by ministers in Turkey and Iran”.
