Turks think economy is the most important issue in the country today

Based on a survey conducted for the DUNYA Newspaper majority of the participants emphasized the most important issue of Turkey in the third quarter of the year was economy. Among “the most important problems of Turkey”, “economy” has risen to the first place. In the third quarter results of the “Social Pulse Questionnaire” conducted by a research company for DUNYA newspaper, the citizens answered the question “What is the most important issue that Turkey faces today?” as “economy” with a rate of 53 percent. This rate was found to be 39 percent in the first quarter and 49 percent in the second quarter.

1,500 people from 26 cities to include Istanbul, İzmir, Ankara, Bursa, Antalya, Adana, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Hatay, Trabzon, Van, Manisa, Samsun, Konya, Tekirdag, Balıkesir, Mardin, Aydın, Malatya, Erzurum, Zonguldak, Kastamonu, Kırıkkale participated in the survey.

According to the results of the survey with 1500 people from 26 cities of Turkey, the “optimism” rate regarding the future is also decreasing. 44 per cent of respondents predict that the general situation of the country in the next 5 years will be worse than today and 27 per cent will predict it will be “better”. The percentage of optimistic expectations about the future was 46 percent in the second quarter.

Highlights from the survey: Based on data collected other following results were obtained

  • 44 percent of respondents think that in 5 years Turkey will be worse than it is today.
  • 19% of the state services are satisfied with religious services.
