US House of Representatives adopts Armenian bill to recognize 1915 events as genocide

The US House of Representatives has adopted a resolution to recognize the 1915 events as genocide. Foreign Minister CAVUSOGLU described the decision as “embarrassing” and said ‘it is null and void in the eyes of our government and our people”.

The US House of Representatives adopted a resolution to recognize the 1915 events as genocide. The parliament passed the bill, presented by Adam Schiff, the Deputy of the House of Representatives Democrat in April with 405 “yes” votes against 11 “no” votes.

The bill passed by the House of Representatives must be adopted in the Senate in the same way to be implemented.

Reacting to the draft Serdar KILIC, Turkey’s Ambassador to Washington made a statement on Twitter saying “decisions to be taken by deputies in foreign parliaments based on the influence of known lobbies and far from historical truths but not based on unbiased research and evaluation and lacking vision cannot dishonor our glorious history”.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister CAVUSOGLU reacted to the so-called “Armenian genocide” bill said, “This shameful decision of those who abuse history for politics is null and void in the eyes of our government and our people”.

Minister CAVUSOGLU said in a statement on Twitter;

“We stopped the big game with the Peace Spring operation of. Those who were frustrated because their projects were spoiled are now reverting to the outdated bills on the shelves. Those who think they will get revenge from this way are mistaken”.
