World Business Angel Investment Forum hosts participants from 92 countries

The World Angel Investment Forum (WBAF), also sponsored by Turkish Airlines, hosted representatives and investors of World Investment Funds, with a size of US$ 250 billion.

The World Angel Investment Forum (WBAF), the world’s largest early stage capital and investment markets community, was held in Istanbul on February 17-19 with the participation of Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Sports, former deputy PM Mehmet Simsek, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, President of the assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veselin, top-level bureaucrats, angel investors, executives and entrepreneurs.

At the forum, 50 start-ups from 18 different countries made presentations to hundreds of angel investors on the global fund-raising scene. Among them were Seville Mayor Juan Espadas, Kosovo Minister of innovation Besim Beqaj, Ghana Minister of Development Mohammed Awal and Macedonian Minister of State Prof. Dr. Zoran Sapuric.

Investors from 82 countries attended the forum in which an agreement on Economic Co-operation was signed between Kosovo, Ghana and the World Angel Investment Forum.

1200 angel investors from 82 countries participated in the forum with delegations from the European Angel Investment Trade Organization (EBAN), the Spanish Investment Agency (ICEX), the Ghana Ministry of development, the Middle East and North Africa Angel Investment Trade Organization (MBAN) and the World Bank IFC SME Finance Forum. Dozens of start-ups developing innovative products and services within the scope of the forum have had the chance to prove themselves to angel investors at the stands they opened.
