Along with the circular announced by the President and published by the Ministry of Interior, Turkey has entered the stage of complete closure. Istanbul’s April corona virus table was made into a report by Istanbul Medical Chamber Covid-19 Monitoring Board. After the “partial closure” measures announced on 13 April failed to stop the increase in the number of patients and deaths, it was announced that there would be a “full closure” from 29 April to 17 May. But despite all our warnings, instead of stopping all fully, and ensuring that people follow the rules of the pandemic, and do their physical exercises, get fresh air, on the contrary, the administration released the wheels also imprisoning people at their homes
Also, the political power that ignored our calls saying “there can be no shutdown without economic social support!” condemned millions of people to hunger and misery.
VIRUS HAS MOVED TO ANATOLIA
After the announcement of the “full closure” decision on the evening of April 26, hundreds of thousands of people headed to resorts and villages, the virus moved from Istanbul to Anatolia, like the “migration of tribes”.
Uncertainty and disruptions in vaccination work continued throughout April. First, the Sinovac vaccines were closed for appointment. Then it was announced that the second dose of BioNTech vaccines would be delayed to 6-8 weeks. The next day it was announced that the postponement had been cancelled. As a result of this chaos, the Istanbul Provincial Health director admitted on April 15 that they were able to vaccinate only 60 percent of the 60-64 age group.
As if the statements of Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, who constantly denied himself about the vaccine, were not enough, President Tayyip Erdogan also denied the Health Minister. On 26 April, the Health Minister said: “the supply of the vaccine is becoming difficult for the next two months. But, the president said two days later “I don’t accept that we will have any problems with the supply of vaccines.”
While Test numbers are falling regularly and filiation studies have been reduced to monitoring only those in contact with patients who show symptoms, there is no credibility in fixing the “Turquoise Table” dafiliation rate, which the Ministry of Health publishes every evening, to 99.9%.
