Onur Otruş, CEO of TatilBudur, evaluated the visa on arrival application for the Greek Islands, stating that demand had increased by 300 percent compared to last year. TatilBudur evaluated the interest in the Greek Islands regarding the visa on arrival application, to be implemented soon.
The Greek Islands, easily accessible from the Aegean coast, have returned to the agenda of the tourism sector with the introduction of the visa on arrival application. With the possibility of obtaining a short-term visa by applying a week in advance, the Greek Islands have become the new destination for domestic tourists who want to both travel abroad and vacation on the Aegean coast this summer.
While it is currently difficult to get appointments for Schengen visa applications for different countries, the visa on arrival application makes the Greek islands an attractive destination for this summer vacation.
Onur Otruş, CEO of TatilBudur, said, “When we examine the reservations, we see that Rodos and Kos are preferred initially. Then comes Lesvos and Samos. Demand for Rodos reached its peak levels in February. Compared to last year, we can say that demand for the Greek Islands has increased by 300 percent in TatilBudur specifically. In fact, we are expecting additional ferry services to be announced to accommodate new reservations. Additionally, starting from April, we will position Turkish guides on 10 islands.”
