Deadline for identification of owned animals approaches

Secretary General of the Chamber of Veterinarians of the Ankara Region, has reminded and warned about the deadline for the identification of owned cats, dogs and ferrets by attaching microchips.

The Secretary General gave information about the identification work so far, in a written statement.

Reminding that the identification of cats, dogs and ferrets by attaching microchips is a legal responsibility, he stated that animal owners should have completedthe procedure in question, by the end of this year.

He stated that a total of 393 thousand 771 animals, including 162 thousand 75 cats, 231 thousand 685 dogs, 11 ferrets, have been identified so far throughout the country and said, “The deadline for the identification of pet animals is December 31. Animal owners who do not identify their animals until 2023 may face administrative fine which is 1634 TL in 2022 and will be determined for 2023.
