Possible decisions that Russia may make due to increased cases in Turkey have led to a decline in Tour sales. Some tour agencies say sales have “halved” in the past few days, according to Russian media reports.

The government’s decision is expected after Rospotrebnadzor President Anna Popova described Turkey as a “risky country” while many Russian tourists prefer to defer paying for tours cautiously.

TourDom.ru has based its news on info provided by some tourism agencies. Accordingly, sales are observed to be falling, with the forecast that a decision on flights to Turkey will be made at a meeting of the Council of ministers.

In the last 2 days sales fell by 25 percent

“Bookings have doubled in half over the past few days,” an agency manager said. Another said: “Rumors have been circulating for several days that flights to Turkey could be restricted. But yesterday, when news broke that it would be discussed at Friday’s meeting, many tourists decided to wait. We usually sell 150-200 tours per day to Turkey. In the last 2 days, our sales fell by 25 percent.”
