Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz made important statements on current issues during a live broadcast on a private television channel, mentioning a slowdown in inflation during the summer months.

Yılmaz stated that there would be a slowdown in inflation during the summer months, saying, “The month where annual figures will peak is the inflation in May,” indicating that there would be a rapid decline in the following four months.

HOW MUCH WILL INFLATION DECREASE?

When asked “How much will it decrease?” Yılmaz used the expression “I expect a decrease of 20 points.”

Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized that the Medium-Term Program (MTP) prepared with a perspective of 3 years is being implemented steadfastly and its results are being seen. Yılmaz stated that the main impact of the decrease is the program, saying, “We will see significant monthly decreases and then annual decreases.” Yılmaz stated that inflation will further decrease next year and will reach single digits in 2026.

Yılmaz expressed that Turkey was in a process of improvement in financial indicators, and when asked “When will the public feel it?” he replied, “We will see this more after the summer period. Actually, we have started to see this in automotive and some areas. But there is rigidity in food and services, and we are trying to break it. Along with them, it will become more noticeable in the lives of our people. This does not mean that inflation will be negative, but there will be a significant slowdown in the rate of increase.”
