Ignored Police “Stop” Warning, Police Chase Followed
A driver who ignored a police “stop” warning and attempted to flee in the Salihli district of Manisa was fined a total of 725,000 Turkish lira. The driver was later detained and subsequently arrested by the court.
According to the information obtained, police teams from the District Police Department attempted to stop a car driven by M.S. (27) on the D300 Highway after becoming suspicious. However, the driver ignored the officers’ warning to stop and began to flee.
Driver Crashes into Police Vehicle
A police chase followed as the driver tried to escape. During the pursuit, the suspect crashed into a police vehicle. The car was eventually stopped at the Demirci Junction, where the driver was captured.
After the arrest, police checks revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Massive Fine of 725,000 Lira
Authorities imposed administrative fines totaling 725,000 Turkish lira on the driver for several offenses, including drunk driving, failing to obey a police stop order, endangering public safety, damaging public property, and negligent injury. The vehicle was also banned from traffic.
It was also learned that the suspect had recently been released from prison under probation regulations. After completing procedures at the police station, M.S. was referred to the courthouse and was formally arrested by the judge and sent back to prison.
