Borsa Istanbul continued its upward trend as the BIST 100 index opened slightly higher at 12,261.38 points and gained strength through the session. By midday, the index was up 0.63% at 12,332.01 points, and in the second half it refreshed its intraday record, climbing above 12,395 points.

Sector Moves and Market Activity
Despite weakness in banking and holding stocks, the broader market remained positive. Total trading volume reached 89.3 billion Turkish lira, with the index moving between 12,235 and 12,349 points during the first half.
Technology, industrial, and services indices led the gains, while financials, banking, and holdings lagged. Trade was the best-performing sector, while transportation saw the biggest decline. Most BIST 100 stocks advanced, with Turkish Gold Enterprises, ASELSAN, Turkish Airlines, İş Bankası (C), and BİM among the most actively traded.
Focus on Global Data
Globally, markets stayed positive on the back of gains in technology and defense stocks, even as concerns over Fed independence and geopolitical risks persist. Investors are now watching US inflation and housing data, which are not expected to trigger major shifts in Federal Reserve policy expectations.
