The first engine integration test of Turkey’s first unmanned combat aircraft Bayraktar Kızılelma (Red Apple) has been successfully completed. The first flight of Kızılelma is expected to be carried out in 2023.
According to the statement made by Baykar, a critical threshold has been passed in the development process of the Bayraktar Kizilelma, which was developed by the company as a national and original and will serve as the country’s first unmanned combat aircraft.
Baykar Technology Leader Selçuk Bayraktar led the test conducted in the test area located at the Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center. With the engine integration test successfully carried out today, Bayraktar Kızılelma has taken one step closer to its first flight.
SIMILAR PROCESS WITH AKINCI
A similar process had taken place regarding Bayraktar Akıncı TIHA process, which was developed by Baykar as a national and original project within the scope of the “Akıncı” project conducted under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industry.
2019 Akıncı had completed the first engine integration test on September 1, 2019. The first flight had been realized on December 6, 2019. Akıncı had entered the inventory on August 29, 2021, about 1.5 years after its first flight.
FIRST FLIGHT IN 2023
The testing process of the Bayraktar Kızılelma “Unmanned Combat Aircraft” project, developed with Baykar’s deep technology accumulation and experience of about 20 years, will continue with ground tests. The first flight of Bayraktar Kızılelma is expected to be realized in 2023.
Bayraktar Kizilelma will be a platform that will revolutionize the battlefield, especially with the ability to land and take off on short-runway ships.
