Ennahda Party leader Rashid Al-Gannushi said that Tunisia, also willing to become a leader of democracy in the region, would take Turkey as an example. Stating that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called and congratulated them for their victory, Al-Gannushi stressed that Turkey was a great value and the second greatest country in the world in terms of economic development.
“Tunisia could take a lesson and benefit from Turkey’s achievements and experiences,” said Al-Gannushi, adding that Turkey sets an example to them with regard to democracy as well.
“We have very good relations between the two countries. We would like to enjoy an atmosphere capable of providing further improvement in our relations in the future,” said Al-Gannushi.
He also offered condolences following the massive earthquake that killed hundreds of people in the eastern province of Van.
