Family doctors and family health workers who have been reacting to rising inflation, life safety problems and the fact that the civil servant salary increase has remained at 17.5 percent and that additional payments will not be reflected in the base salary, are going to stop health services.
Family doctors and family health workers, who are always at the forefront in all emergency situations related to health, including violence, especially in the last 10 years explained that both their problems and workloads had been increasing. The General President of the Family Medicine Employees Union (AHESEN), Dr. Ahmet Kandemir, said the following:
“Problems that were expected to be solved have reached insolubility with rising inflation, unreasonable ceiling and incentive fees, life safety problem, official salary increase to remain at 17.5 percent, additional payments to be made will not be reflected in the root salary, as well as unclear subtext details such as job security can be destroyed when evaluating as an officer from a disciplinary point of view.
Family health centers have lost their attractiveness in the sense of being preferred by doctors, midwives, nurses who provide services to their citizens in the public sector as they are being faced with a kind of punishment.”
“OUR SOLUTION SUGGESTIONS HAVE NOT FOUND RESPONSE”
“The bag law, which entered into force by being published in the Official Gazette on July 14, laid out the articles of law amendment that the health service is ceasing to be sustainable. Unfortunately, our expressing our constructive solution proposals in the public opinion and relevant authorities in order to prevent this situation from happening did not find a response.”
“OUR LOW-INCOME CITIZENS WILL BE MOST AFFECTED”
“For this reason, we are taking a break from health services on August 1-2 in order to prevent the lack of solutions and protect the family medicine system built with great effort with the Social Service, Unity and Struggle Platform (SABIM), which brings together 21 stakeholder non-governmental organizations, and we are passing our struggle beyond call, in order to provide a solution.” “Even in our big cities such as Istanbul and Izmir, there are family health centers that remain empty. The system is going towards the end and this situation will most negatively affect our low-income citizens. For this reason, we will not give up the struggle for a more effective call, for the sake of making our voice heard and for a structure where the efforts are reciprocated and the system lives.”
