Mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, attended the opening ceremony of the Asphalting Factory in Bagcilar, owned by ISFALT. Speaking about the floods and water inundations that occurred yesterday, Imamoglu said, “The amount of rainfall yesterday was way above what usually falls in a month. We received this amount of rainfall in just two hours. From now on, it’s evident that our city, other parts of our country, and other parts of the world will experience such rainfalls. We need to formulate our strategies accordingly.”
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu attended the opening ceremony of the Asphalting Factory located in Bagcilar, which is owned by ISFALT. Speaking about the floods and water inundations that occurred yesterday, Imamoglu stated, “Last night, the rain-hit area of Istanbul, which is perhaps one-twentieth of Istanbul, received an average of up to 130 kilograms of rainfall, and in some areas, it reached 150 kilograms. This amount of rainfall is significantly higher than what typically falls in a month. We received this amount of rainfall in just two hours.
This means that from now on, our city, other parts of our country, and other parts of the world will experience rainfalls like this. We need to create our strategies accordingly,” he said.
