In an airstrike carried out by the Israeli Air Force on Yemen, three people were killed and 87 were injured. The Israeli Air Force targeted the port of Hudaydah in western Yemen. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the attack was in response to the Houthi attacks on Israel in recent months. Yemen’s military has vowed to retaliate against Israel.
In a statement regarding the airstrike, the IDF said, “The Air Force targeted sites belonging to the Houthi terror regime in Yemen. Our entire fleet returned safely. The attack was in response to hundreds of air threats by the Houthis against Israel in recent months, one of which led to the death of the Israeli citizen Yevgeny Perder, whose memory is honored, and injured several other citizens. The Air Force aircraft conducted an operational strike from over 1,800 kilometers away, targeting areas in the Hudaydah port region. The Hudaydah port area is used as a supply route for weapons from Iran to the Houthi terror regime and serves as an important economic resource for the regime.”
Saree: We Will Respond to the Attacks
Yemen Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Saree stated after the Israeli attacks, “The enemy Israel launched a brutal attack against Hudaydah Governorate, targeting the power plant that supplies electricity to the coastal city of Hudaydah in various attacks. They also targeted civilian sites, including the Hudaydah port and fuel tanks. The Yemen Armed Forces will respond to this blatant attack and, with the help of Almighty Allah, will not hesitate to strike the vital targets of the Israeli enemy.” Yemeni media reported that three people were killed and 87 were injured as a result of the airstrike.
Hagari: This Attack Was Necessary
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari stated that the attack was ‘necessary,’ saying, “Israel’s necessary and proportional attacks were carried out to stop and repel the Houthi terror attacks following nine months of air attacks on Israeli territory.”
