Istanbul Airport has become the busiest airport in Europe, according to Eurocontrol’s air traffic report for the period from August 12-18, 2024. With a daily average of 1,510 flights, Istanbul Airport topped the list, once again demonstrating Turkey’s strength in the aviation sector.
Antalya Airport also made it onto the list, ranking 7th among Europe’s busiest airports with a daily average of 1,034 flights.
The European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) shared air traffic data for the period of August 12-18, 2024. The report highlighted that Istanbul Airport was the busiest airport in Europe during this time. Following Istanbul were Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, with an average of 1,428 daily flights, and Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport, with 1,412 daily flights.
In addition to airport rankings, the report also provided insights into Turkey’s overall air traffic. Turkey ranked 6th in Europe for the number of daily flights, with an average of 3,982 flights landing and taking off from its airports.
