There have been important developments in the field of economics and therefore politics in Turkey, lately. In fact, the country could be said to be expecting much more important developments, because according to experts, the administration cannot get the results it wants to achieve in the economy. And this in turn, affects the views and preferences of the citizen in the political area.

Naturally, the government does monitor these developments which are also confirmed by the polls, and seems to be more confused about what to do as a result of said insufficient results. This situation seems to have put the administration a difficult situations in the face of opposition. An article on this topic was written by veteran journalist Fikret Bila. Important parts of the article are as follows:

“The high-spirit mood advantage seems to be on the opposition front

(A part from article by Fikret Bila, a prominent journalist)

The performance of the opposition is much higher compared to the government.

One of the indicators of the level reached by this performance was that speaker of the parliament Mustafa Sentop and Minister of Transport Adil Karaismailoglu (both members of ruling AK Party bloc) tried to connect and defend themselves, while CHP Leader KILICDAROGLU was live on Haberturk TV with FATIH ALTAYLI, the anchorman/journalist.

This was the first time this had happened and it was an important breaking point. The spokesmen, ministers or deputies belonging to the ruling power, especially President Tayyip Erdogan, have been ignoring the opposition leaders and the opposition. They have constantly blamed the opposition all along, refraining from discussing with opposition members on a live broadcast. Actually, ministers or ruling deputies are not allowed to appear on television with opposition deputies. They use only one-sided propaganda on television (without presence of opposition reps).

This rule was broken last night. SENTOP and the Minister of Transportation connected to the television channel and tried to respond to CHP leader. However, they could not give a satisfactory answer, and also helped the CHP leader prove his views and claims with related documents.”
